•Scientific Name of castor: Ricinus communis
•General description: Castor oil is extracted by crushing the seeds of the castor plant and is increasingly becoming an important bio-based raw material in various cosmetics, soaps, textiles, massage oils, and even medicines. It is tall, branched shrub, 6 to 15 feet in height. The fruit is dry, three-celled, three seeded, ovoid and thorny, capsule about 3.4 cm long.
